In 2013 Parks Canada and Google began a two-year collaboration to document many of Canada's most iconic national heritage places through the unique panoramic lens of Google Street View. Google's new "Trekker" Street View backpack, capable of going anywhere a person can hike, enabled the capture of a wide range of features including back country hikes, front country day use trails, and campgrounds. By bringing Street View to Parks Canada locations, Canadians and people around the world can now virtually explore the amazing natural landscapes that define this country. Google and Parks Canada will continue to add new locations, while returning to ones already visited to fill in missing views.
Banff Lake Louise Tourism is proud to feature these unique, virtual views of some of our most treasured natural sights.
