Spectator Info
Are you coming out to the Subaru Banff International Triathlon to support a competing friend or family member? Here is some essential spectator and event information as you come out to witness one of the most picturesque races in 2011.
Spectator Opportunities
To ease congestion on the Minnewanka Loop Road and show that the event can coexist with normal park activities, the event organizers are using mass transit on race day to transport participants to the start at Two Jack Lake. The start will not be accessible by vehicle on Saturday.
We are heavily recommending that spectators, friends, and family do not go to the start area (Two Jack Lake) on race morning. There will be limited space on the shuttles for spectators (athletes will take priority) and the viewing at Two Jack Lake will be somewhat minimal. We will also not be able to ensure that spectators are returned to the second transition and finish area in time to see the athletes on the run or possibly even for their finish. On the other hand, the viewing in Central Park (downtown) for the bike finish, run loops (where you will see the athletes multiple times - up to 4 times per loop!), and finish area right down Banff Ave will be excellent!
