Starting in the picturesque town of Banff and beginning the journey through a series of incredible natural, wildlife, and historical stages - the "Bow Valley Experience". Each stage of the Banff Marathon and Half Marathon is a different chapter of the Valley's story and is represented by an icon that is relevant to the area and its significance. Participants will begin and finish the course in Banff's Central Park surrounded by cheering crowds, complete a loop past the serene Vermilion Lakes, travel along the new Legacy Trail and up the Bow Valley Parkway to a designated turn-around point.
This is your chance to run in the only marathon in North America that is fully contained within the boundaries of a National Park, Canada's very first National Park. The maximum number of participants is limited to 1500 due to the uniqueness of the setting as a protected area and UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Dates for the 2015 Banff Marathon and Half Marathon will be announced soon. Participants of all abilities welcome. Don't miss the opportunity to experience this unique race! In the meantime, click here for more information.
