The Banff Marathon and Half Marathon is set to make a comeback in 2014. The original event was cancelled in its inaugural year after devastating floods in Southern Alberta. One of the world's most beautiful and unique destinations has been given another opportunity to host the most famous running event, the marathon.
Participants will complete an adventure through a series of incredible natural, wildlife, and historical stages along the park’s Bow Valley Parkway and Legacy Trail to a finish of cheering crowds in downtown Banff. Each stage will represent a different chapter of the valley’s story. The family-friendly event will have something for everyone including a sport and lifestyle expo, kids’ activities and more.
This is your chance to run in the only marathon in North America that is fully contained within the boundaries of a National Park, Canada's very first National Park. The maximum number of participants is limited to 1500 due to the uniqueness of the setting as a protected area and UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Don't miss the opportunity to experience this unique race! Registration for the Banff Marathon and Half Marathon is now open with early-bird rates applicable until the January 31st. For more information and to register click here.
