FAQs
Can I participate in Bike Fest however without a valid race license?
Please note that this year only UCI licensed riders are able to compete. Special Event Licenses and Citizen Licenses will not be permitted.
I currently hold a Cat 5 licence, can I participate in the stage race?
If you hold a Category 5 licence you cannot participate in the Men's stage race. The Men's stage race is open to Category 1-2 riders. Male Cat 3-4 riders may enter as individuals.
The women's stage race is open to all holders of UCI Licences Category 1-5.
As the Lake Louise Road Race is part of the stage race it is not possible to enter this race separately.
What happens if I upgrade to a higher category after I have registered?
If you register as a particular Category and get upgraded prior to the race please advise us as soon as possible events@banfflakelouise.com so that we can place you in the correct race.
Stage Race: If you have registered in the Stage race as a Cat 3 individual and get upgraded to a Cat 2 prior to the race then you must be placed in your 'home' team in order to compete in the stage race. If you do not gain a place in your team and you are a Cat 1/2 then you are unable to compete in the Stage race.
Can I register for the stage race as a Cat 1/2 individual?
The Cat 1/2 stage race is primarily a team race open to teams of 4-7 riders. Should the maximum number of teams not be reached by the deadline of May 31st then we will open registration for Cat 1/2 individuals. You may race as an individual only if your own club has not entered a team in the stage race.
