Bow Valley Parkway (1A) Closure (17-km section east of Johnston Canyon Campground only): March 1 - June 25
Parks Canada is prohibiting all travelers, including cyclists, from traveling on the Bow Valley Parkway between Johnston Canyon and the parkway's east entrance off the Trans Canada Highway between 8pm and 8am. As the Bow Valley Parkway traverses some of the best wildlife habitat in Banff National Park, this closure works to create traffic-free periods for sensitive wildlife and gives the animals the space they need to thrive during the this time of year.
Banff National Park is the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains World Heritage Site, a global treasure of natural beauty, wildness, and diversity of life.
Enjoy. Connect. Respect.
