Take It To The Street
February 8, 2014 - February 9, 2014
Hockey in the Rockies!
The annual Take It To The Street 3 on 3 ball hockey tournament brings Canadian's favourite sport to downtown Banff. Don't miss your chance to play street hockey on Banff Ave.
The 2013 tournament saw 16 teams from across the Bow Valley and Calgary battle it out for the title of Take It To The Street champion. Congratulations to the Elk & Oarsman for their 8-0 record!
The weekend shaped up nicely with teams getting their 15 minutes of fame as CBC broadcasted live from Banff Avenue for Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada. Calgary Flames Alumni, Perry Berezan and 1989 Stanley Cup Champions Colin Patterson & Jim Peplinski were on hand to sign autographs and play some friendly shinny against the tournament players. The festivities continued with a Grapes Look-a-Like contest where participants donned their best Don Cherry outfit and the kids were entertained with the Take A Shot activity zone and the Family/Kids Shinny game right on Banff Avenue.
The tournament includes:
- Minimum 4 games
- Free snacks and beer at the players reception
- Free gift for each player
- Free team photo
- Team entry into the grand prize draw
Registration for the 2014 tournament opens in the fall. Check back for event details!
