Banff's rich heritage is on proud display wherever you look. As the first National Park in Canada, and third in the world, Banff gave birth to our extensive National Parks system. There are seven National Historic Sites within the Park, plus many more protected buildings.
In addition, many restaurants, retailers and hotels proudly embrace the historic past and evolving culture of Banff. Look for vintage photos, local art, and interesting stories in these businesses all over town.
Authentic experiences, products and services can also be found, ranging from voyageur canoe tours to guided hikes, locally produced art to handcrafted First Nations items, fresh beer brewed in Banff to locally produced soap and much much more!
Stop by at the Visitor Info Centre on Banff Ave and pick up a self guided map to over 40 heritage sites in town, or download the full brochure here.
