Senior Manager, Events & Special Projects

We are a results oriented marketing organization committed to promoting Banff, Lake Louise and Banff National Park as a world-class, year- round destination. We are now accepting applications for the role of Senior Manager, Events & Special Projects

Our ideal candidate is a motivated team player who enjoys a fast-paced work environment, has excellent project management skills and the ability to see the big picture of event planning. This position based in Banff, Alberta, reports to the Director, In Resort Services.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Create and execute a yearly plan for Events and Special Projects focussed on the target markets identified by BLLT
  • Provide advice and support to external contractors and partners working on events in collaboration with BLLT
  • Seek out, apply and manage grant funding, partnerships, and sponsorship opportunities
  • Develop an event sustainability plan for each BLLT event with a definable ROI
  • Build and maintain relationships with BLLT members and key destination partners
  • Manage events budget and Events Team

This successful candidate will have:

  • 5 – 7 years of progressive work related experience in event management and planning
  • Experience with managing a team
  • Proven ability to manage sporting, executive, cultural events and festivals
  • Ability to work well under pressure and within deadlines
  • Creative problem solving skills with a proactive approach
  • An understanding of marketing and social media
  • Strong knowledge of Banff and Lake Louise area
  • Ability to work some evenings/weekends and pitch in where needed during events
