Banff Lake Louise Tourism was formed in 1992 as a private non-profit cooperative destination marketing organization (DMO) for the Town of Banff, Lake Louise and Banff National Park. Its primary focus is to attract year round destination visitors from the leisure, conference, meeting and incentive travel markets and to direct that business to member companies and organizations. A complementary aim is to enhance the quality of the visitors’ experience and to create awareness within the community of the value of tourism and of the product we offer.
Banff Lake Louise Tourism is comprised of approximately 800 member companies representing all business sectors from the Town of Banff, as well as other tourism related businesses within Banff National Park and select members from outside the Park. It is governed by a Board of Directors which is elected by the membership with one being appointed by Town Council and another representative from Parks Canada. All membership sectors are represented on the Board, providing the opportunity for sectoral participation in Banff lake Louise Tourism affairs. In addition, a marketing committee has been established to provide input for marketing activities.
Banff Lake Louise Tourism is managed by a group of tourism professionals under the direction of the President and Chief Executive Officer who reports and is accountable to the Board. Our 2014 Business plan is available here.
