The Whyte Museum inspires discovery and wonder when people and the Rocky Mountains meet. We share stories and explore the culture shaped by this mountain landscape. Our founders, Peter and Catharine Whyte, were local artists and philanthropists who wished to offer a place where people could gather and appreciate the culture and beauty of the area. Visitors can experience the Museum’s galleries, archives, library, heritage homes, tours, museum shop and special events.

The Whyte Museum Shop complements the ongoing programming of the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies by showcasing related local products. We support and foster the development of local artists and vendors by sourcing 75 percent of our products locally, thereby promoting the enjoyment of Canadian Rockies art, culture and history.
