Sulphur Mountain Weather Observatory

The Sulphur Mountain Observatory was constructed in 1902 to collect climatological data for the Meteorological Service of Canada. Until it was closed in 1933, Norman Sanson, curator of the Banff Park Museum, regularly monitored the station's thermometers, wind gauges and barometers. The data collected at the station was significant to understanding the climate of the Rocky Mountains of Canada.
