At 28 kilometres long, Lake Minnewanka is the longest lake in Banff National Park and the perfect location for a scenic boat cruise! Being the only lake in Banff that allows public motorized boating, Minnewanka offers a unique experience to visitors keen to cruise with a little bit of speed.
Known to the First Nations as the “Lake of the Water Spirits”, Lake Minnewanka is also at the centre of local folklore – all stories you’ll no doubt hear on your informative cruise. From Minnewanka Landing, the abandoned town now submerged under the lake, to ancient archaeological findings, you’ll be enthralled to learn that there’s more to this place than just water and mountains.
You’ll want to keep your camera handy for some incredible photo ops found nowhere else in The Rockies! Sixty-minute tours are available from mid-May to mid-October.
