On August 11 & 12 boats will surge ahead towards towering peaks surrounding a mythical mountain lake, propelled by paddles lifting and lowering in perfect synchronicity. The adrenaline is as palpable as the drumbeats driving each boat ahead.
Mix the excitement of a dragon boat race with the stunning scenery of Banff National Park, and you've got a festival as unique as each boat gliding through the pristine waters of Lake Minnewanka. Adorned with colourful dragons and flags, these 40-foot Chinese dragon boats make for a vibrant and enthralling display for spectators and participants alike.
