Each November, the WinterStart Festival in Banff and Lake Louise kicks off with the heart-pounding World Cup alpine ski races in Lake Louise. The fastest skiers on the planet hurtle down the mountain at speeds that easily top 100 kilometres per hour over two consecutive weekends of men’s and women’s ski racing.

With the Vancouver 2010 Olympics just a few months away, our Canadian athletes are gearing up to win gold! The Lake Louise World Cup is the first race of the season on Canadian snow and the last chance we will have to see them sport their skills before they hit the slopes in Whistler. Come out and cheer as our Nations best ski racers fight for top spot on the World Cup podium!

Live on hill entertainment by the Mocking Shadows Rhythm and Blues Revue throughout the day on Saturday November 28th will also get you ski boots tapping and your body grooving. Sit outside as you enjoy the warm winter sun, spectacular scenery and lively music.

If you cannot make it out to Lake Louise, the next best way to experience the live racing action is by taking in the Jumbotron's big screen in Banff. Races will be live to air in Banff Avenue Square, located at 200 Banff Avenue.
