Banff and Lake Louise are gearing up for the second weekend of the WinterStart Festival.

Here's a list of the the upcoming events and things to do for WinterStart!

Warren Miller’s Playground - Banff Film Premiere

November 29, 6pm – 9:30pm, Eric Harvie Theatre, Banff Centre
Warren Miller’s newest film Playground and short film Snow Chasers, proudly presented by Ski Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine with Ski Norquay, Lake Louise Mountain Resort and Sunshine Village. Kick off the Rail Jam weekend by heading to the Eric Harvie Theatre, Banff Centre, for the largest action sports movies on the planet! Tickets available from the Banff Centre Box Office 1.800.413.8368 or box_office@banffcentre.ca. After the movie, a complimentary bus service will run to the Elk & Oarsman Pub & Grill (119 Banff Ave, Banff) where the party is just getting started! Great prize giveaways, drink specials and more!!

2007 CP Rail Jam

November 30 & December 1, 4 - 7pm, 200 Block, Banff Ave, Banff
Proudly presented by Ski Banff-Lake Louise-Sunshine with Ski Norquay, Lake Louise Mountain Resort and Sunshine Village. Catch the Banff Avenue action at this premier professional & amateur rail competition which brings skiers and snowboarders from all over the globe to compete for a great pool of cash and prizes. The 2007 event features the repeat presentation of the Molson Beer Tent, the big screen movie screen, and the Local Food Fair, with the addition of TEAM CANADA DJs and specialty drink stations. The Kid’s Zone will offer photos with Santa Claus, kids’ performers, carnival games, and Christmas craft centre.

1988 Olympic Team Autograph Signing and Presentation

November 30 4:30 – 5:30pm, Cascade Plaza, Banff Avenue
The 1988 Ladies Olympic Winter Games alpine ski team, celebrating 20 years since their historic achievements during the Olympic Winter Games in Calgary, is being honoured by Alpine Canada Alpin for their contribution to ski racing in Canada.

Kicking off this winter’s celebration of the successful 1988 Olympic Winter Games, members of the team including 1988 Downhill and Super G bronze medalist and member of the Canada’s Sports Hall of Fame and Canadian Ski Hall of Fame Karen Percy(-Lowe), are the honoured guests of the annual Return of the Champions gala dinner on Friday. Other members of that memorable team included Laurie Graham, a six-time World Cup champion, 1992 Olympic champion and six-time World Cup medalist Kerrin Lee-Gartner, World Cup medalists Josee Lacasse and Lucie Laroche as well as Michelle McKendry, Nancy Gee and Kellie Casey.

Bombardier Lake Louise Winter Start World Cup

December 1 & 2, 11:30am – 2pm, Lake Louise Mountain Resort
Women’s Downhill and Super G Races at Lake Louise Mountain Resort. Lake Louise is North America's 1st stop on the tour and is the only Club 5+ Ski Resort in North America.

Community Ski Day: Sunshine Village

December 7 Daytime, Sunshine Village
Enjoy a great day of skiing or riding on us while supporting local charities. A $20 donation will get you skiing or riding at Sunshine Village for the day. Total donation by public will be matched by ski area! (Offer only available to residents of the Bow Valley. Proof of residency required. Tickets can be purchased at Sunshine Village on December 7).

Community Ski Day: Ski Norquay

December 8 Daytime, Ski Norquay
Enjoy a great day of skiing or riding on us while supporting local charities. A $20 donation will get you skiing or riding at Ski Norquay for the day. Total donation by public will be matched by ski area! (Offer only available to residents of the Bow Valley. Proof of residency required. Tickets can be purchased at Ski Norquay on December 8).
