Banff Tea Co.

Banff Tea Co. was opened in June 2007 by Barry and Susanne and is infusing the Bow Valley with over 100 different teas from around the world, as well as a selection of eclectic and funky teapots.

The store itself was designed to be a place of discovery, creativitea, warmth and peace. The uniqeness of the design (Harry Potter meets Zen) is only part of the experience Barry and Susanne hope to create.

Smelling is believing, as each tea is showcased in its own 'snifter tin', allowing you to get a whiff of anything before you buy. This is explained as: "The rule of thumb is if you like the smell, you'll like the taste. It's a great way to shop".

"We love tea not only for the wide variety of tastes, but because it can be enjoyed without taking a toll on the earth. You can compost the tea leaves and send them back to the land, not the landfill." To that end, Banff Tea Co. plans to not only send tea leaves back to the earth, but 50% of their profit will go back to the grass roots charities and farmers in the (mostly) third world countries where the tea comes from.
