Banff Culture Weekend

On the weekend of August 9 and 10, 2008, the streets of Banff will come alive with art and culture. Banff Culture Weekend combines two heritage events: Banff Culture Walk and Doors Open Banff. This annual event will provide an opportunity for visitors and locals to visit the area’s most interesting art galleries, museums, heritage buildings and cultural attractions while also providing opportunities to participate in special cultural activities taking place at various sites around town.

Numerous events are scheduled all weekend long. On Saturday, the Banff Culture Walk will provide a variety of town-wide special events, including an opportunity to meet and interact with artists at various different locations and galleries. The centre of activity will be the Bison Courtyard at 211 Bear Street where there will be free entertainment throughout the day and the opportunity to pick up a list of events. On Sunday, Doors Open Banff will provide the opportunity to step back in time while guests take a self-guided walking tour through Banff's most interesting heritage homes and buildings.
