Mountain Madness Relay

Teams of five athletes, mostly local entries, take part in the race. The teams strive to out-do each other in coming up with wacky team names, themes and costumes. Some of them also try to go fast.

Entry deadline for the 2008 Mountain Madness race is January 18th, 2008. Registration forms are available on-line or can be picked-up at Community Services, Banff Town Hall (110 Bear Street).

The multi-sport relay starts with a downhill ski leg from the top of Ski Norquay, and works its way down to the Bow River and Central Park via run, ice skate, classic cross-country ski and skate ski segments.

Much of the action takes place on the frozen Bow River, where friends and fans cheer on the athletes of all ages and skill levels.
