While Banff National Park is famous for its wide open wilderness, wildlife and natural beauty – there’s still plenty to do indoors and just as much to learn. There are several museums which tell the unique local stories of the discovery of the area and the interesting people who first called Banff and Lake Louise home.
Families can take a break from the great outdoors at the indoor waterslides, climbing wall or swimming pool, which is open to the public almost every day. The movie theatre shows the latest films seven days a week – including afternoon matinees – or you can give bowling under psychedelic black lights a shot. Fitness fans may want to drop in at a local yoga studio, gym or exercise class if they want to keep the routine going while they’re on vacation or, if it’s for serious relaxation, track down a therapeutic massage at a local spa.
