It’s Canadian and naturally, it’s colourful. Our currency comes in a lot more hues than your average “greenback” with different colours for a five, ten or $20 bill. Fifties are red and $100 bills are brown. Collect them all.
You won’t find a $1 bill, because we call them “Loonies” here, and they are a bronze- coloured coin named for the loon, a long-beaked waterfowl bird known for its musical sunset salutations. Just to keep things rhyming right along in our money matters, we also have a $2 coin that’s known as a “Toonie” featuring another Canadian symbol, the Polar Bear. Loonies and toonies might weigh down your pockets and purses but you’ll be surprised by what a handful can buy. Great for vending machines for a quick drink or snack as well.
