Mountie "Meet and Greet" Program

They're a symbol of Canada known around the world. Dressed in traditional red serge

uniforms, felt hat, riding pants and boots, the quixotic Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) cut an impressive figure in Banff National Park. Romantic Hollywood films have glamourized the Mounties as they rescued damsels in distress, rode to the rescue for pioneering settlers, or battled native Indians in headdress.

Schedule a “surprise” visit from retired RCMP officers who continue this Canadian custom for visitors, tour groups and conventions, posing for photos, promoting the time-honoured image of the Mounties and discussing its history and current programs. They add ceremonial flair to any event in Banff and Lake Louise – just by standing in the room – so remember those cameras or hire a local professional photographer. For more detailed information contact retired Staff Sergeant Pat Kamenka.
