Banff National Park, Alberta - A new boutique inn is the latest addition to the outstanding accommodation options, remarkable lodges and B & B’s that Banff National Park is renowned for. The Banff Boutique Inn is an European-style country house with 10 contemporary rooms, grand great rooms, a hearty mountain continental breakfast and the type of warm local hospitality that genuinely connects with visitors.
The Canadian Rockies offer boutique at its best, with exclusive views, a bit of history, and loads of personality. Stay in a charming cabin or lodge in the woods at Deer Lodge, Paradise Lodge or Bungalows in Lake Louise with flowers outside the door or wake up to exclusive sunrise views of a glacier-filled lake at Moraine Lake Lodge. An overnight stay at Num-Ti-Jah Lodge, just a short drive north along the Icefield’s Parkway, is a unique opportunity to live and breathe local history and the lasting legacy of the idiosyncratic trapper and outfitter Jimmy Simpson.
A leisurely drive along the Bow Valley Parkway (Highway 1A) reveals an off-the beaten track treasure at Baker Creek Lodge, with cozy lodge rooms and luxurious chalets with kitchens, fireplaces and outdoor decks. Storm Mountain Lodge, just south of Castle Mountain Junction, exudes rustic elegance in its historic 1922 log buildings, and romance in its private cabins with log beds, down duvets and fireplaces.
Close to 50 homes in Banff neighborhoods have been converted into charismatic bed and breakfast inns or guests cabins and many hosts have generations of stories to tell along with breakfast. History buffs will enjoy an overnight stay at Tarry-A-While Historic Bed and Breakfast, the original home of intrepid turn-of-the-century explorer Mary Schaffer Warren, now operated by the Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies. Other bed and breakfast inns are simple little cabins or spacious rooms with a contemporary design and feel in an executive-style home.
