This campground is a good option for campers wanting a more rustic and authentic camping experience. Its central location along the Bow Valley Parkway (Hwy 1A) provides access to a number of unique attractions including Johnston Canyon and the Ink Pots. Hiking, biking, scenic drives and wildlife viewing are close by.
Sites: All 132 campsites have picnic tables. Most sites also have fireboxes. Sites are suitable for tents and small RVs (up to 8 meters (27 feet) in length. A maximum of 6 people and two vehicles are permitted on each site. All tents and vehicles must be set up or parked on the gravel area of the campsite. Camping is on a first come, first serve basis.
Services: The campground has flush toilets, hot and cold running water, showers, picnic shelters, food lockers and a sani-dump. Gas and basic groceries are available at the Castle Mountain Chalets.
Regulations: There is an alcohol and fire ban in effect from 2300 - 0700 every day and a complete alcohol ban on long weekends. The maximum stay is 14 days. Check-out time is 1100.
Fees: $27.40 per site per night with no fire and $36.20 per site per night with fire. Wood is provided. Payment is with cash, traveller's cheques, debit, Mastercard, Visa, or American Express.
