Browse exhibitions at local art galleries, take in lectures and workshops at The Banff Centre, visit with artists in residence at the Fairmont Banff Springs, and attend special readings and live screenings at the Whyte Museum. Have a look at the full calendar of events here.

The Banff Children’s Festival is all about fun and performances for the younger members of your family. A journey into a world of creativity, the festival is a full day of free and ticketed events including theatre, musical performances, dance and comedy shows. Children can also explore their creativity while burning off energy at the free climbing wall sessions, Bouncy Castle Village Party and circus workshops.

On the slopes

After you’ve enjoyed skiing and riding with the sun on your back, settle back with a drink and enjoy free music concerts on the ski hill. The Coors Light Snowchella Concert Series puts on performances from local bands every weekend at Sunshine Village until the end of May. These free outdoor concerts are open to all Sunshine Village on-mountain guests.

Celebrate great spring skiing and riding and the end of the winter season at Lake Louise with the most explosive spring party in the Rocky Mountains – Shake the Lake! Watch as local talent throw down their finest tricks in the Rail Jam, then join in on fun charity events and kid-friendly activities. The epic "Shake the Lake" After Party takes place after the sun goes down in the Lodge of Ten Peaks. Party and dance all night long as DJs spin the tunes at this adult-only event.

Tip: Reserve your “Shake the Lake” after-party tickets in advance and take the roundtrip bus service available from Banff and Lake Louise for maximum fun.

Additional spring athletic events include the Sunshine Grind Fat Bike Race, Bruno Engler Memorial Race on Mount Norquay, Doug Meyer’s Memorial Race at Lake Louise and much more.

Health & Wellness

In the spirit of good health and wellness, exhibitions and workshops on mindfulness, meditation and yoga take place throughout the spring at venues including the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, Cave and Basin National Historic Site and various studios around town.

The Banff Yoga Festival is a weekend of outdoor activities, engaging speakers, exceptional events and classes, and of course, yoga. Create your intentions in a goal-setting workshop, learn the basics of fermentation in a cooking class, attend a wine tasting with organic wines, and meet like-minded people at an evening cocktail party. You are sure to be inspired. Visit Banff Yoga Festival for more details.
