Your Guide to Banff's Coffee Shops

Add to my moments

Pair iconic sights with indulgent sips as you explore all that Banff and Lake Louise have to offer. No matter where your adventures take you in the park - you are sure to find a cozy drink and sweet treats to enhance your day of exploring.

Lattes in Lake Louise

Trailhead Café: Enjoy a classic drip coffee or a range of specialty coffees, including the Maple Canadiano: A shot of espresso, hot water, pure maple syrup, and white chocolate.

Laggan’s Mountain Bakery and Deli: Pair your coffee with an assortment of comfort food, including an array of pastries. We highly recommend the sticky buns!

The Guide’s Pantry (Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise): Venture into the newest addition to the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise before your next adventure. Indulge in a premium assortment of freshly brewed specialty coffees and signature tea selections.

Lake Agnes Tea House: We think you’ll agree that coffee brewed in the mountains is best enjoyed on the mountains themselves! Enjoy a forested 3.5 km hike, with an elevation gain of 400m, to enjoy a sweet reward next to stunning Lake Agnes. Open from June 4 to Canadian Thanksgiving and closed in the winter.

Plain of Six Glaciers Tea House: Pass through glacial valleys and meadows populated with wildflowers as you hike approximately 5.6 km with an elevation gain of 360m. Settle into the historic tea house for a warm drink and a slice of the locals’ favourite chocolate cake. Open early June to late September and closing over the winter.

Bear Street Treats

Banff National Perk: A local’s favourite since 1988, Banff National Perk Coffeehouse offers coffees, baked items, breakfast sandwiches, and more. You can also find boxed lunches for hiking and sightseeing trips.

JK Bakery Cafe: Stop by this staple of Bear Street for coffee from a local roaster, Mountain Blends. You can also find loose leaf tea bought locally from Banff Tea Co. and Canmore Tea Co.

Wild Flour Bakery: Wild Flour Bakery has got your morning brewed and baked. Enjoy an array of delicious whole and healthy foods complemented with a fresh cup of coffee.

Brews on Banff Avenue

Happy Camper Café (Canalta Lodge): Coffee and sweet drinks pair perfectly with the s'mores available at the outdoor fire pits. You may also enjoy a warm drink after a daring dip into the Canalta Hotel's cold plunge pool!

Whitebark Café (Banff Aspen Lodge): Both a local’s favourite spot and voted “Best of the Bow: Coffee,” this well-kept secret features delicious coffee and tea sourced from our local Banff Tea Company.

Good Earth Coffeehouse: For a sweet change of pace, try any of their fun fall offerings ranging from a Pumpkin Spice Frappe to a Honey Espresso Chai with Steamed Oat Milk.

Evelyn’s Coffee Bar: Located in the heart of Banff Avenue, Evelyn’s offers up a selection of premium coffees and a mixture of mochas, mochaccinos, cappuccinos, and hot chocolates. This is the perfect location to grab a hot drink as you sip and shop along Banff Ave.

Uprising Bake Shop + Espresso Bar: As you drop in for a warm drink, you’re sure to be tempted by freshly-baked loaves, baguettes, pastries, and other sweet specialties. Fresh coffee and fresh baking are the perfect combination for your day spent exploring Banff.
