Cliffhouse Bistro
With the retro-cool charm of a European chalet, mid-century modern décor, and uninterrupted views over Banff, this might be one of the best mountain-gazing lunch spots in the Canadian Rockies. With just 50 seats and streams of natural light, every table offers a top-of-the-world view – with Mt. Rundle stealing the show.
Simple, understated, and effortlessly mountain casual, the Cliffhouse Bistro serves relaxed, upmarket lunch fare, specializing in Albertan flavours with a twist. Perched at 7,000 ft. and reached by the North American sightseeing chairlift, it’s been a Banff social hub since the 1950s – even hosting Marilyn Monroe in 1953 during the filming of River of No Return.
Recently restored with its vintage Tea House roots in mind, the Cliffhouse blends retro-cozy après style with a modern-day mountain eatery.
