Bike Sundance Trail
A paved path, close to town, that could quite literally define “riverside trail” – Sundance Trail has it all, yet it’s still possible to spend a peaceful morning or afternoon on this trail. The trailhead is found just beyond the Cave & Basin and begins with a downhill cruise that’s perfect for settling into your saddle. It gets even better on the shores of the Bow River where the path is wide and smooth, making it easy to look around. Which is good, because there’s plenty to look at!

Local Tips
Adventurous cyclists can follow the path where it turns away from the river (after about 3 km) upwards to bike racks and an optional hiking trail up Sundance Canyon itself.
This trail feels close to town, but it’s in the wilderness – be bear aware, bring bear spray, and make plenty of noise.
Make time before or after to visit the Cave & Basin National Historic Site.
