Cory and Edith Pass Trail

Around here we love a loop hike, and this one offers it all – and then some. Cory and Edith passes are generally completed together on a circular route that covers all the terrain the Canadian Rockies are famous for. This 15 km circuit climbs and descends over 1000 metres of elevation and offers a bit of everything. There’s a steep climb to Cory Pass in the alpine zone, a traverse through the other-worldly “Gargoyle Valley”, a contour route around the base of Mount Edith and a lovely stroll down through lush forest.

Local Tips

  • We recommend beginning this loop with the ascent to Cory Pass even though it’s steeper – it’s easier to go up than down, and the views will distract you!

  • There are some short sections of scrambling on this trail.

  • As you circle around Mount Edith, look up to spot rock climbers making their way to the summit.
