Drive the Golf Course Loop
Like most activities in Banff National Park, golfing here is more than a game – it’s all about the views. A game of golf might not be your cup of tea, but luckily the vistas of our local course are open to everyone.
The golf course loop is a short but stunning drive (about 5 km) on the edge of town. Despite the fact that many visitors make a stop at the well-known Bow Falls, most have no idea that just beyond this point the road quiets down dramatically and offers unique views of the Bow River and gets you into the shadow of Mt. Rundle.

Local Tips
The Fairmont Banff Springs Golf Course is closed in winter so this a summer-only scenic drive.
Access is open to all but look out for golfers (on foot and on carts) who occasionally cross paths with the road.
Herds of resident elk are known to frequent this loop as well. As always in the park, keep an eye out and keep your distance from wildlife.
The Golf Course Loop also makes for a great cycling or scooter route.
