Fat Biking the Great Divide Trail
For a peaceful fat bike ride that takes you well away from regular roads, we recommend heading up to the Great Divide Trail just below Lake Louise. As soon as you leave the parking area you’ll find yourself in a snowy forest. This trail is set aside only for human (or dog) powered activities like Nordic skiing and fat biking. Keep your eyes peeled for snowshoe hares as you pedal down 8 km to find out if the stone monument that marks the border between Alberta and BC is still above the snowpack.

Local Tips
Be sure to stay off the cross-country tracks used by skiers.
Check trail conditions with Parks Canada before heading out to see when the trail was last groomed.
Keep an eye (and ear) out for dog sled tours who also travel down this trail.
