Silverton Falls Trail

Silverton Falls is the kind of hike that defines “short and sweet.” At less than 2 km (round trip) this jaunt doesn’t always make the lists of must-do hikes in the Rockies. Really though, this makes it an even more desirable destination –quieter than neighboring trails, with a grand finale that’s definitely worth the walk. The hike begins with an easy stroll through the forest before reaching a couple of steep switchbacks leading to the 50-metre high waterfall – saving the best for last!

Local Tips

  • Silverton Falls trailhead is shared with the better-known Rockbound Lake trail. Look out for the sign to turn right towards the falls about 300 metres down the trail.

  • Be cautious on the slightly exposed rocky sections near the waterfall viewing area.

  • This place has history – Silverton was once home to a mining village dating back to the late 19th century.
