Banff & Lake Louise for Groups

You scrolled through the photos on your phone. Turquoise lakes, rugged mountain backdrops, and smiling faces filled each photo, reminding you of the fun you had shared with your friends. Long hikes in the mountains, where you dared each other to jump into freezing cold lakes, followed by soaking up the sun and golden evenings by the fire cuddled up with a blanket drinking beer: it had been a near perfect vacation with your best buddies.

Banff and Lake Louise are fantastic places to visit and explore with a group of friends, families or co-workers. Whether you’re looking to get an adrenaline fix, spend time reconnecting in nature, or relax and rejuvenate for a weekend, Banff and Lake Louise have activities that will appeal to all types of groups. A wide range of accommodation styles, dining and nightlife options, and other amenities make group travel easy.

By Day

Banff and Lake Louise are packed with fun activities that are perfect for groups to experience together. Adventure of all types is easily accessible, whether you’re looking for adrenaline-filled activities or are in search of more tranquil exploration.

On a hot summer’s day, tackle thrilling whitewater rapids on a raft with your friends or rent a canoe and paddle on one of the many iconic Banff National Park lakes for a more relaxing day on the water.

The options for hiking and snowshoeing are endless. For a short outing close to town, tackle the trails of Tunnel Mountain or Sulphur Mountain to see soaring vistas of Banff from above. For a longer trek, take on one of the many backcountry hikes or cross country ski trails around Lake Louise.

There is nothing like trying something exhilarating to build camaraderie and good memories. A Via Ferrata tour on Mount Norquay is an exciting but safe way to conquer any fear of heights you might have. If you would rather take in the sights with firm footing underneath, take a gondola ride to see expansive vistas of the Rocky Mountains. It is especially awe-inspiring at sunset and makes for great photo opportunities.

Embark on a mini road trip on the roadways around Banff and Lake Louise. Pack a lunch, designate a DJ, and drive the famous Bow Valley Parkway or the Icefields Parkway.

During the winter, tackle the ski slopes of one of the three world-class ski resorts in Banff & Lake Louise. If you’ve never skied or snowboarded, consider taking a lesson or visiting the tube park and racing your friends down the icy track. Snowball fights are sure to ensue, so make sure you have your snowball-making technique honed. Or, rent ice skates and play a game of pond hockey in the stunning setting of Lake Louise. Finish up in with drinks in front of a crackling fire.

By Night

Be sure to leave some energy for after sundown. Ease into the evening with drinks and dinner at a restaurant in the town of Banff or hamlet of Lake Louise. There are two bowling alleys in Banff, perfect for some friendly competition before heading on to one of the local nightclubs and dancing the night away. If you’re a music or theatre fan, check our events calendar to see what’s on when you’re in town. For a more relaxed evening, visit one of the local spas or hot springs or watch a movie in the local Lux Cinema
