Paddle Vermilion Lakes
Winding waterways lead from Banff’s canoe dock through a forest so lush it almost feels like an alpine jungle. As you paddle past leafy trees and swaying grasses, the channels of 40 Mile Creek and Echo Creek give way to an expansive body of water – the first of the three Vermilion Lakes. Paddle through the marsh grass and watch the reeds part before you as your canoe, kayak or SUP glides silently across the water’s surface. Cruise along the lake below Mount Rundle, an exquisite representation of how the Rockies grew from the earth millennia ago.
