Banff & Lake Louise Tourism Business Events representation in-market
We attended Destination Canada Business Events’ (DCBE) signature event – Incentive Canada in St John’s, NL. DCBE gave public credit to Banff & Lake Louise Tourism for our efforts in cultural sustainability such as the Indigenous fashion show for SITE ISA (Incentive Summit Americas). DCBE will now feature the show at IMEX Las Vegas where it will get massive exposure. During this program we had one-on-one meetings with 14 clients. This was a great opportunity as planners are busier than ever, and competition is fierce. The Incentive Research Foundation reported rising interest in holding incentives in Canada during the event. Desire for luxury, sustainability, and authenticity were amongst the trends.
In the Canadian market, Banff & Lake Louise Tourism hosted a client event before the Canadian Meetings & Events Expo (CMEE) in Toronto. We enabled member businesses to connect with clients at our event and the tradeshow floor, where our wellness-themed booth created the opportunity for them to exhibit with the destination brand. Member businesses scanned over 160 visitors and received positive feedback on generating future RFPs.
Demand for Sustainability in Business Events
At the Maritz Activate show, it was revealed that many corporate clients are aligning with Net Zero Carbon Targets by canceling events to reduce their carbon footprints. International destinations are less favored due to carbon footprint concerns, making Canada's proximity to the US an attractive option. Additionally, the mid-tier tech sector is witnessing substantial growth within the events industry, and the worry of a US recession impacting the industry has abated, indicating a more favorable economic outlook for event planning and participation.
