Lake Louise Drive Construction
Construction on Lake Louise Drive - the road which connects the village to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake - began on Tuesday, 21 May, and will last until the fall. The construction will occur Monday to Saturday during daylight hours, and will not be conducted during long weekends.
While improvements are underway, visitors can expect delays of up to 30 minutes on Lake Louise Drive. Longer delays are possible during peak periods of visitation.
Key Messages for Visitors:
- Be prepared for significant traffic delays when travelling to Lake Louise or Moraine Lake, as Parks Canada work to improve Lake Louise Drive.
- Planning ahead is more important now than ever. Book a Parks Canada shuttle, transit, or commercial operator to guarantee the best experience.
- If you do not have a reservation on the Parks Canada Shuttle, Roam Public Transit, or other transportation provider, you should consider other options within Banff National Park. Visitors without reservations are very unlikely to find parking and vehicles will be turned around.
- Explorethepark.ca is a great resource for finding and booking transportation to and from Lake Louise and Moraine Lake.
- This construction project will provide long-term benefits for visitors, residents, and wildlife.
