Q: What is the Canada Strong Pass?
A: The Pass is about making it easier for everyone to explore Canada and celebrate what makes this country extraordinary. It includes free access to all national parks, as well as discounted camping, museums, and travel. You can find full information on the Government of Canada's website.
Q: I am visiting from abroad, do I still get the free Park Pass?
A: Yes! The pass is available to all visitors, whether you live in Canada or come from abroad. It’s an invitation to experience Canada’s cultural and natural richness.
Q: I purchased a day pass, how can I get a refund?
A: If you purchased a day pass for dates between December 12, 2025 or after January 15, 2026, through Banff & Lake Louise Tourism, you do not need to take any action. All refunds have already been processed. Please reach out to parkpass@banfflakelouise.com if you believe you're eligible but did not recieve a refund.
Q: I purchased a Discovery Pass, how can I get a refund?
A: Discovery Passes are normally valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Annual passes valid during free admission periods are automatically extended. No action is required to get these extensions. Please use the pass expiration calculator on the Parks Canada website to find out when your pass will expire.
Q: Do I still need to pay for parking?
A: Yes, paid parking is separate from the National Park Pass. There is still paid parking in place in downtown Banff.
Q: I purchased a pass from Parks Canada, how do I get a refund?
A: For all passes purchased through Parks Canada, please contact them directly for more information.
