Choice Design for Tourism Businesses: Using behavioural science to action sustainability

From marketing to supply chain, how can we influence in the right way at the right moment to promote sustainable visitor behaviour?

Led by renowned behaviour scientist Milena Nikolova, this practical workshop designed for local tourism businesses and service providers of different sizes. Focus is placed on providing participants with hands-on behavior-change actions that enhance the visitor experience, reduce costs, and generate desired benefits.

Tourism and leisure businesses control many of the decision points at which visitors make choices influencing the footprint of the local visitor economy. When equipped with smart behavior change techniques, the local tourism supply ecosystem can be programmed to encourage visitor behaviors that enhance profitability and sustainability.

Expected outcome—local businesses will walk out with:

  • A strong understanding of how behavior change and choice design can help achieve market and sustainability goals
  • A set of specific hands-on tactics that they can start employing on the day after leading to enhanced customer satisfaction, reduced costs and desired impacts.

Participants are strongly encouraged to attend the keynote on Wednesday, May 7.
