Lake Louise and Moraine Lake - Key Messages for Visitors

For 2024, Parks Canada is implementing changes to help visitors make the most of their time in the Lake Louise and Moraine Lake area. Keeping frontline staff and your guests updated with changes and key messages will ensure a positive visitor experience in Banff National Park this summer.

Please share these important key messages with visitors and your frontline staff about visiting Lake Louise and Moraine Lake:

1. Using commercial operators, Parks Canada Shuttles, or public transit such as Roam is the best way to make the most out of your time in Banff National Park and guarantees the ability to see both iconic destinations in one day.

2. Explorethepark.ca is a great resource for finding and booking transportation to and from Lake Louise and Moraine Lake.

3. Parking at Lake Louise is extremely limited and not guaranteed. Paid parking at the Lake Louise Lakeshore in 2024 will be $36.75 per vehicle per day with no hourly rate available.

4. Moraine Lake Road cannot be accessed by personal vehicles. Visitors can experience Moraine Lake by booking a sightseeing tour, Parks Canada Shuttle, or public transit.

5. Those with accessible parking permits will have opportunities to drive to Lake Louise and Moraine Lake and park, subject to availability.

6. Road construction is happening on Lake Louise Drive this summer and planning ahead is more important than ever. More information about the construction will be shared by Parks Canada once a contract is awarded.

7. If you do not have a reservation on the Parks Canada Shuttle, Roam Public Transit, or other transportation provider, you should consider other options within the Park, visitors without reservations are very unlikely to find parking and vehicles will be turned around. It is best to return once you have secured reservations in advance.
