
SnowDays Festival 2024
At the beginning of each year Banff and Lake Louise comes alive with the SnowDays celebration. This festival is created and executed by Banff & Lake Louise Tourism.
The event includes five key elements: The Play Zone, Snow Sculptures, Ice Magic, Bear Street programming and Skijoring.

This festival requires some road closures to make it successful. Please see the affected areas below and plan ahead.

Road & Parking Closures
Friday, January 12
7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Beaver Street Fire Hall parking lot full closure.
- Alleyway vehicle access closed between Parks Canada parking lot entrance and Caribou Street.
*Access to the Parks Canada parking lot from Wolf Street will be open with intermitted traffic delays (flaggers).
Monday, January 15 - Monday, February 5
6:00 a.m. Jan 15 - 6:00 p.m. Feb 5
- Bear Street 200 block between parkades at Bear Street Mall and Brewster's Mountain Lodge closure.
- Bear Street surface parking lot will remain open and retain access from the alley (except Feb 5, 7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.).
*Access to resident and hotel parkades open, with intermittent traffic delays (flaggers).
Wednesday, January 17
7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Bear Street 100 block closure.
* Access to above ground and underground parkades open, with intermitted traffic delays (flaggers).
Friday, January 19 - Sunday, January 21
6:00 a.m. Jan 19 - 5:00 p.m. Jan 21 inclusive
- 100 block Banff Avenue, between Caribou Street and Buffalo Street
- Caribou Street 300 Block, closed to alley
- Caribou Street 100 Block, open to traffic. Please note that only the turn to/from the 200 Block of Banff Avenue will be open
Saturday, January 20
6:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m.
- 100 & 200 Block Banff Avenue, between Wolf Street and Buffalo Street
- Mount Royal Hotel Town of Banff parking lot closure
- Buffalo Street, westbound lane tapered from Banff Avenue to west alley lane
- Caribou Street is closed from Banff Avenue to alley on both sides
Monday, February 5
7:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
- Bear Street surface parking lot closure.
7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Beaver Street surface parking lot by fire hall closure.
- Bear Street 100 block between parkades closure.
