9 Places to Après in Banff and Lake Louise

Add to my moments

The perfect pairing for an adventure is a cold beverage best enjoyed by a fire. Banff and Lake Louise are not short on cozy, Canadian, and tasteful spots to celebrate a day outside and reward yourself for any adventure. Here are 9 places to start your après adventure in Banff and Lake Louise.

Waldhaus Pub

Conveniently located next to the Fairmont Banff Springs skating rink and tobogganing hill is the Waldhaus Pub. Serving up German-style food and beers, the Waldhaus Pub is the perfect addition to a day on the Fairmont rink at the base of Mount Rundle.

Banff Ave Brew Co.

Award-winning beers made from Alberta wheat and barley are served up seasonally and with a new menu as well. The Banff Ave Brew Co. is a friendly and local craft brewery that has a cool mountain flare and a beer for everyone.

Juniper Bistro

Unbeatable views, an outdoor and indoor wood burning fireplace, and best of all – a delicious après menu starting at 4 p.m Monday to Friday, and 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The Juniper Bistro is one of Banff's best-rated restaurants and is conveniently located at the base of Mount Norquay.

Park Distillery

Many of the winter activities in Banff National Park have views of glacier-capped peaks that cast shadows in the low winter sun. Park Distillery has coined the term ‘Glacier to Glass' because the very water that makes the spirits they distill, originates at six glaciers. Celebrate your day and ice in every form with a cocktail at Park Distillery – all made with their own spirits.

Rose & Crown Banff

Banff's only pub to have live music every night of the week, the Rose & Crown serves up beer, cocktails, wine, and entertainment.

Nourish Bistro

Cocktails, vegetarian cuisine, and an urban-like setting on Bear St. in Banff. Nourish Bistro is Banff's only all-vegetarian restaurant and also a unique cocktail bar that is known mostly to locals only. Nourish will be playing the modern music and shaking cocktails to impress when you're ready to reward a day of activity.

Bear St. Tavern

Another great local's spot located on Bear St. is the Bear Street Tavern – serving up signature pizza's, sandwiches, and most importantly, ‘bear sized cocktails' along with craft beer from the Bow Valley.

High Rollers

Pins, pints, and pizza! High Rollers has 48 beers on tap and 10-pin bowling for the ultimate après experience. Celebrate a day of adventure with an evening of bowling at Banff's only 10-pin bowling alley beer hall.

Alpine Social Club in Lake Louise

Lake Louise's newest restaurant and the perfect place for a cheeky treat after a day of adventure in the iconic area itself. Alpine Social at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise joins Canadian alpinism history with modern social culture to create a unique atmosphere at the shoreline of Lake Louise.
